On May 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., the organizer of Eco-Products International Fair (EPIF) 2014 held an ISO 20121 event management certificate presentation ceremony in conjunction with a forum in the Taipei International Convention Center VIP Room.

The ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management System is a set of international standards for economically, socially and environmentally sustainable practices. According to SGS Taiwan Ltd. Taiwan (SGS), EPIF 2014 is Taiwan’s first ISO 20121-compliant exhibition as well as the first Asian recipient of SGS-issued ISO 20121 event management certificate.

As part of Taiwan’s MICE Promotion Program (MEET TAIWAN) under the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Green MICE is a pioneering initiative aimed at keeping the Taiwan MICE sector up-dated on the latest global trends. In lieu of the above, the May 13, 2014 forum promoted the use of sustainable practices during the pre-event planning stage in order to reduce environmental impact. By actively spreading social awareness to visitors, exhibitors and sponsors, it also sought to redefine sustainability as a concerted participation from the public and society at large.
